ACRO is more than a therapy center — it is a movement led by a vision for a more inclusive Pakistan. Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Maria Kazmi, President and CEO, ACRO was founded with the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to thrive, no matter their challenges.
As the founder of ACRO, my journey began with a simple but powerful realization — that every child, regardless of their abilities, deserves dignity, love, and equal opportunity… ACRO is not just an organization — it is a movement to build a society that understands, supports, and uplifts every child.
— Dr. Maria Kazmi, President & CEO, ACRO
Inspired by her passion and personal experiences, Dr. Kazmi has shaped ACRO into a multidisciplinary center of excellence. Today, our programs span occupational therapy, speech therapy, behavior modification, inclusive education, parental training, vocational rehabilitation, and home-based programs tailored to the needs of each individual.
Our impact has reached hundreds of families across the country, offering professional care, heartfelt compassion, and unwavering advocacy. What began as a mission rooted in empathy has grown into a trusted name in disability support and rehabilitation.
We continue to expand — including the recent establishment of a new branch — in order to bring our services to more communities that need them most. With the support of compassionate people like you, we aim to ensure that every person — child, youth, or adult — receives the care and opportunities they deserve.
Meet the passionate leaders of ACRO who guide our mission with dedication, empathy, and a vision for a better tomorrow.
President & CEO
Autism Care & Rehabilitation Organization(ACRO)
“As the founder of ACRO, my journey began with a simple but powerful realization — that every child, regardless of their abilities, deserves dignity, love, and equal opportunity. I started ACRO because I witnessed the immense lack of awareness, resources, and inclusive platforms for children with autism and other special needs in our society. Our mission at ACRO is to create a compassionate, inclusive, and empowering environment where individuals with special needs are not only accepted but celebrated. Through rehabilitation, education, therapy, and community engagement, we aim to unlock their true potential and help them live fulfilling lives. ACRO is not just an organization — it is a movement to build a society that understands, supports, and uplifts every child. Together, with the support of compassionate individuals like you, we strive to turn empathy into action”

“My two daughters are special. The day they were brought to Dr. Maria Kazmi was the most meaningful and unforgettable day of my life. Dr. Maria played a crucial role in helping me provide them with better treatment. It was then that we decided to establish a center dedicated to children with special needs — a place where children like my daughters could receive the care they deserve and live a better, more fulfilling life.
Together with Dr. Maria Kazmi, we laid the foundation of ACRO (Autism Care and Rehabilitation Organization). Today, our institution is recognized among the leading centers in Karachi, and our dedicated team is working with full commitment to further expand its services and impact.”

“Autism is not a deficiency — it is a different way of perceiving the world. True progress is achieved through empathy, understanding, and acceptance of these unique perspectives. Our government is steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that every child with special needs is treated with dignity, love, and equal opportunity. In Sindh, autism awareness is more than a campaign — it is a heartfelt promise to every child creating a world of their own. Children with special needs are not a responsibility — they are our pride. They don’t just require support; they deserve an inclusive, empowered society. Through strong public-private partnerships, we are developing a sustainable system that safeguards the future of every child on the autism spectrum. I envision a Sindh where no parent fears for the future of their special child — where understanding autism is not just a medical or educational duty, but a moral obligation rooted in our shared humanity.”
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah
